Andrea Winters started her physician assistant (PA) career in the cardiology department at Gundersen Health System in 2002 soon after graduating from the PA program at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. A strong interest in congenital heart disease and a long time love of working with children influenced a career shift in 2007 when she joined the pediatric cardiology team at Gundersen Health, while maintaining an adult congenital heart disease practice.
Andrea has a passion for preventative cardiology that includes screening for and managing pediatric cholesterol disorders, as well as the ongoing evaluation & screening of inherited genetic conditions that impact heart muscle and rhythm health of entire families.
She is an active member of the Seven Rivers Chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest association; a local group of volunteers with a mission of educating the public on the importance of early intervention with hands only CPR and early defibrillation to prevent death from cardiac arrest. She enjoys being involved in teaching health care related students, and is a member of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the National Lipid Association.
Andrea grew up in West St. Paul, MN, attended undergraduate school at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and has been happy to call the La Crosse area home since her early PA career drew her to the region. She treasures time with her husband, Heath and two vibrant children, Adeline and Calvin.

Lisa Klein began her journalism career at News 8 in December of 1997. She anchors News 8 at 5 and produces a weekly education series called Assignment: Education. She is also a contributor to the station’s News 8 Investigates franchise.
Lisa grew up in Racine, Wis., and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She is the mother of two daughters and a fur-baby named Wrigley. You can catch her family on the city’s bike trails, hiking in Hixon Forest or strolling through Riverside Park.
She is honored to have won multiple journalism awards from organizations including the Associated Press, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Northwest Broadcast News Association.
